Character Name: Vanellope von schweetz
Canon: Wreck-it Ralph
Canon Point: Right after crossing the finish line.
Background/History: Disney Wiki!
Previous Game History: N/A
Personality:
"Look wise guy, I know I'm a racer, I can feel it in my code."
Vanellope is your typical program coded to be a nine year-old girl. Her humor is childish, her sass is endless and her motives can come across as quite selfish. When we first meet her she manages to not only steal Ralph's medal, but mock him and ignore his every plea so she could use it for her own gain. She becomes more of an annoyance for Ralph as the movie progresses, but what could be expected from a character from a game called "Sugar Rush"?
Just like any other child, her judgment is terrible. She's unable to see the weight of the trouble she causes Ralph because she believes the ends justify the means. Throughout the movie, Vanellope is certain that deep down, in the very elements of her code, she was meant and designed to be a racer. Even throughout being bullied and demoralized by the other racers, marginalization and ostracization she never deters from her beliefs. She knows who she was meant to be and without a shadow of a doubt she believes in her own abilities to not only be a racer, but a winner.
Her confidence and determination has reflected strongly on her self-awareness. She is not only aware of her abilities to do these things, she's also aware of the fact she was created to do these things and that she will always have the capacity to keep racing, winning and what have you. She comprehends that her life is inside a video game and she can even see the "gamer's" world (and Fix-it Felix Jr.) from her game.
She has a hard time realizing when to leave people alone. Her social cues aren't very extraordinary, but what could you expect from a nine year-old? She'd probably heckle a stranger to the end of days if you let her. Without any adult presence in Sugar Rush, you might say she lacked any manners. Hell, you might even find her quips rude and you might definitely find her mock version of your voice irritating, but that doesn't mean she'll ever have the sense to leave you be.
Her playfully loud and slightly annoying attitude seemed to have stemmed from the abuse and rejection of her fellow racers. She reacts to their hostility with snide remarks and tends to go on the defensive whenever she's ridiculed about being a "mistake" or a "glitch". Since she's just a child her views on the people that surround her tend to be less cynical and more forgiving. She never ends up treating anyone with the same hostility she was treated with even when she remains holding the short end of the stick.
Meeting Ralph was possibly the best thing that could have happened to her (and her to him). He was her ticket to winning this race and at first that's all he was going to be. She'd win, give him his stupid medal and they'd part ways, but their friendship became more than that. Beyond the slightly humorous, playful banter there was a genuine friend. Something she hadn't known throughout the majority of her stay in Sugar Rush.
Unfortunately, like any other kid her age she has a hard time listening to reason. Specifically if the reason directly interferes with what she believes is right. She throws caution to the wind to become a racer and does everything in her power to make sure she enters that race. Just like any other child she's prone to fits and this is seen when Ralph destroys her car. She calls him a rat and regrets ever believing he wasn't a bad guy. Although, it doesn't seem like she holds grudges for very long and as I mentioned before, due to her being a child she's quick to forgive. When Ralph apologizes they're quickly back to their old banter, just like nothing had ever even happened.
With all things considered, Vanellope is just a child. She has the determination to move mountains, the skills to survive on her own and the sensibility to believe in herself when all odds are against her. She's a good kid, maybe a bit annoying and hard to handle, but those who have the ability to put up with her will find character beneath the endless abrasiveness.
Abilities/Powers: Vanellope has the ability to "glitch". Quite literally. She learns how to control her ability near the end of the movie and it lets her teleport short distances. Think of it more as a displacement than an actual teleporting ability. Although, she's able to use it in rapid succession and can teleport things she's touching/holding/using (IE: cars).
Beyond that, she's a pretty skilled racer and she's well adapt to living and surviving on her own.
Items/Weapons: Her clothes.

[ The video has been recording for sometime, but the device hasn't been picked up and it's seemingly been ignored for the duration of the video. ]
Sweet mother of monkey milk! Did you see that? Did. You. SEE. That. I CAN'T believe it! I actu- Hey, hey, are you even listening to me? Ralph? Where did you even...
Wait a second. Yer telling me I win the race and you guys all run off?
[ Then the device is kicked by accident, but the clatter of it scraping against the floor sure would have been annoying. There's a brief moment of silence before a very audible:]
WHOA! This looks so COOL! Is this what the new Sugar Rush got?
[ She taps her finger right against the speaker. ]
Hello? Hello. Is this thing even on? [ Whispered: ]Kind of screwy, if you ask me.
Sample Entry Two:
Surreal.
The sharp intake. A rumbling engine, followed by a forced gear shift. Everything felt so surreal, like a dream had since come. Her excitement bubbled, nearly piquing when she swept past Taffyta to secure first place. This was her code, this was who she was programmed to be. Not some glitch, not some reject back in an unfinished level. She was prime and raring to go! Her head turned just enough to catch Taffyta in her peripherals.
"Ain't so talkative now, are ya'?"
She couldn't exactly hear the response of anger, but she liked to imagine it was one full of defeat. Hell, she even hoped those were tears forming in Taffyta's eyes. Vanellope couldn't help but grin, her lips spreading from ear to ear and surprisingly white teeth formed quite the devilish smile. She couldn't even imagine where the other racers were, but there was no way she was losing this now. The finish line was already in view and any other racer was already miles behind her.
She made a break for it. A clear stretch and a well deserved victory. Once she was in that car she was a force to be reckoned with. The gamers loved her, they loved her advantage and the element of surprise her glitch brought them. Taffyta followed behind, taking second with a look that either meant she was bitter or she had been stuffing her face with warheads before crossing the finish line.
"Oh come on. You just know that was good."
There's that smirk again and it grows wider with every look Taffyta could manage to send her way.
"Don't tell me yer gonna be a sore loser." Vanellope sighed halfheartedly, throwing her arm out in front of her with a palm extended. "Put 'er there. I knooooow you wanna." There was a few moments of silence before her other hand went to hold her extended arm. "Hey, I ain't got all day yanno."
Reluctantly, Taffyta shook her hand and amends were silently made.
